Understanding CloudGear Pricing

An overview of our subscription models, lifetime purchase option, and the reasoning behind our pricing structure.

An overview of our subscription models, lifetime purchase option, and the reasoning behind our pricing structure.

CloudGear is designed as a long-term, continuously evolving project — game-streaming websites are updated frequently, and we need to ensure the app stays compatible as they evolve while also delivering the many new features we have planned on our roadmap.

In an ideal world, we’d offer a one-off purchase that includes a year of updates, and then let you choose whether to renew for continued support — the same model many desktop apps use. If you chose not to renew, you’d simply keep using the last version you had access to.

However, the App Store does not allow iOS apps to operate this way. Apps must either be a permanent one-time purchase with unlimited updates, or subscription-based. There’s no mechanism to charge for a specific year of updates.

Given those limitations, we have decided to offer three flexible options, so you can choose the model that suits you best:

  1. Monthly Subscription: Perfect for flexibility. Subscribe only when you need the app, and cancel anytime.
  2. Yearly Subscription: The best value for dedicated gamers who want uninterrupted access at a lower annual cost. Includes a 7-day free trial so you can test the performance and features with your specific network and setup risk-free.
  3. Lifetime Purchase: A one-off payment for those who prefer to pay upfront and avoid recurring charges entirely.

Whether you choose to subscribe or buy a lifetime unlock, your support is what ensures CloudGear remains compatible, reliable, and well-supported for years to come.
